GOVERNOR BADARU SIGNS 2017 BUDGET INTO LAW

Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Muhammad
Abubakar Badaru signed the State’s 2017
budget of N129.8 billion into law.
The signing of the budget came barely one
week after the state assembly passed it into
law with some little adjustments from the
original copy earlier submitted by the
governor.
Governor Badaru while signing the
appropriation bill into law at the Council
Chamber of the Jigawa State Government
House, Dutse, said the budget was increased
by N2 billion from the initial N127.8 billion
as a result of some changes in the price of
oil.
On the budget implementation, Governor
Muhammad Badaru promised to take all
necessary measures to ensure full
implementation of the budget as he
cautioned all government agencies that
under no circumstances should the Budget
Implementation be derailed.
Finally, Governor Badaru thanked the
Honourable Speaker of the Jigawa State
House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Alhaji Isa Idris
Gwaram and other members of the State
House of Assembly not only for the speedy
passage of the Appropriation Bill, but for
their thorough and in-depth investigations
into various subheads, which he said was
attested to the exemplary and harmonious
working relationship between the Executive
and the Legislative.
